Former member of the House of Representatives, Dino Melaye, has called for the immediate arrest and investigation of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) national president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, over his alleged links with the private jet seized in South Africa and the $9.3 million reportedly carried by occupants of the aircraft for arms purchase.
Although CAN has dissociated Oritsejafor from the operation of the aircraft and its mission to South Africa, Melaye faulted the argument that the arms deal was sanctioned by the federal government.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the All Progressives Congress chieftain said:
"Oritsejafor should be arrested and prosecuted. Which govt uses private jet, private pilot and crew, all civilians to purchase arms with cash?"
Recall that CAN had accused some APC stalwarts, notably former FCT minister, Nasir El-Rufai and National Publicity Secretary of the opposition party, Lai Mohammed, of attempting to tarnish Oritsejafor's image over his support for President Goodluck Jonathan.
