Police arrest 20-year-old serial killer who kills women and commits sex acts on their dead bodies

A 20-year-old man, simply identified as Chukwuma has been arrested by the operatives attached to the Ebonyi State police command for allegedly killing women and thereafter having sex with their dead bodies.

Chukwuma who is a painter was nabbed when security agents in the state set him up with a young girl on a farm pathway.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Chris Anyanwu while confirming the arrest said that the serial killer usually picks his victims from women going to or coming back from the farm.

He also said Chukwuma was in the habit of attacking women on deserted bush paths where he would then strangle them and afterwards, have sex with their dead bodies.

It was also gathered that the suspect had already murdered three women in the same manner.

On July 15, he ambushed one Anyigor who went farming at a place called Okwulike. Shortly after he strangled her, he had sex with her corpse and took N8,500, which he found on her.

When quizzed, Chukwuma confessed that he used the money to buy a Nokia phone and spent what was left of it on the popular local gin called 'kaikai'.

He also stated that he indulged in the gory activity because the people in the community wouldn't stop calling him a nickname 'Sogbodo', which he detested.
