FATHERLAND DUTIES: NYSC Corpers made to pack Excreta in Bayelsa orientation camp

Some Batch B Youth Corps Members at the Kaiama camp, Bayelsa State, Sunday, 10 August, said that they were forced by security agents to pack Faeces — human waste — in the absence of toilets in some of the hostels.

The hostels with the no-toilet issues according to the corpers are hostels' E, F, G and H.

"The army commanders in Kaiama camp Bayelsa state won't allow us 2 enjoy our sleep. They just woke us up at dusk to start packing faeces which we the corpers & the soldiers defecated." A corps member said.

While another said, "I know we agreed to obey the clarion call, but that is not why we should be used as packers of Human waste. Youth corps members don't go to the press but as for me the press must hear this furtive attitude."

The NYSC 2014 Batch B orientation camp is divided into two streams, and camp opened for the first stream on 5 August and will close on 26 August, camp opens for the second stream, September 1.
