Federer & Stan Set for an All-Swiss Last-8 Clash in Wimbledon

Swiss' Roger Federer, seeded four, cruised into
the quarter-finals of Wimbledon with a
comfortable straight sets win over Tommy
Robredo of Spain.

Seventeen-time
Grand Slam winner, Federer, was keen to avoid the
disappointments of last year's US Open, when he lost to
Robredo, dominating their fourth round clash at SW19
before winning 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion next face
compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka, who beat Spaniard
Feliciano Lopez 7-6, 7-6, 6-3.

However, Federer is relishing another opportunity
highlighting his credentials as the greatest tennis player
alive. The 32-year-old has won Wawrinka in 13 of their
previous 15 meetings.

"For a small country we are doing well in sporting
teams," said Federer. "It will be amazing to play Stan in
the quarter-finals here, hopefully on Centre Court,
because things like that don't happen too often in Swiss
Sport.
"I'm pleased with the way I am playing. I'm moving well,
serving well and doing all the things right that you need
to be doing to go deep into this tournament.
"I am healthy, things are where I want them to be, but
the quarter-finals is really where the tournament starts."
