Author Of Book On How To Survive Running Of The Bulls Gored By Bull

Bill Hillmann, a Chicago man well-known in the sport of bull running and co-author of the book 'How to Survive the Bulls of
Pamplona', has himself been gored by a bull in
Pamplona.

Sanfermin.com, a website which covers the
festival, reports that Hillman was injured on Wednesday
during the especially dangerous 'Telefonica' stretch of
the run. The American apparently tripped and fell face-
up, allowing him to watch as the full weight of irony and
bull-horn descended upon him.

Thousands flock to the Spanish city of Pamplona each
year to enjoy in the revelry and test their mettle in the
time-honored ritual of the bull run. As in previous years,
several people have been wounded during the 2014
edition.

While Hillman appears to have pressed his luck a little
too far this year, it's worth noting that he did live up to
his book's promise to survive the event. The Associated
Press states the author had to undergo surgery but is
reportedly "doing well."
