The Senate President, Senator David Mark has congratulated the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, which he said the nation desires most at this trying times.
This was contained in his goodwill message to Muslims in Abuja on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri.
In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, Senator Mark decried the unabating security challenges the country is facing at the moment and called for collective action of all citizens against the terrorists with a view to ending the menace.
Similarly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has urged Muslims in the country to use the period of the Eid-el-Fitr to reflect on their spiritual lives as individuals and how they can contribute more meaningfully towards the unity, stability and progress of Nigeria. The speaker also urged Nigerians to be conscious of their health by strictly adhering to instructions issued by health professionals, saying the outbreak of Ebola virus in neighboring countries is a cause for concern in the country.
In a Sallah message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Imam Imam, Speaker Tambuwal said all Nigerians should be more dedicated to the Nigerian project, adding that with unity of purpose, building a virile and strong nation is achievable.
