Costa Rica Coach Wary of Robben’s Diving Antics

Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto says the
Netherlands midfielder Arjen Robben must not go
unpunished, should he dive during Saturday's
World Cup quarter-final in Salvador.

The Bayern Munich winger apologised for diving during the second
round win over Mexico last Sunday.

"I would like to ask Fifa and the referees to watch
Robben," said Pinto. "We're really worried about his
diving. He has admitted doing it."

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera accused Robben of diving
in the wake of his side's elimination courtesy of a
stoppage time Klaas Jan Huntelaar penalty after the 30-
year-old forward was brought down.

Robben told Dutch television: "I have to apologise. In the
first-half I took a dive. he one at the end was a penalty."
Fifa took no retrospective action against Robben because
it said no rules were broken.

Pinto was quizzed if Robben should be sent off if he
dives, and he said: "That may be the most logical
solution.

"Maybe he would have to leave the field because he gets
two yellow cards for diving," the coach added.
Fifa has named Uzbekistan referee Ravshan Irmatov for
the last-eight clash at the Arena Fonte Nova.

The winner of the match face Argentina or Belgium in
the last-four.
